One of the best characters in Frieren is arguably Himmel — the leader of the Hero Party which saved the world from the Demon King. That’s despite him dying in Episode 1 — essentially before the start of the main story.
While Himmel is dead for the majority of the anime, his actions during his life greatly influenced those around him. We can see that with Frieren herself, with Himmel’s love for her being an integral part of her character development.
That’s not all, though: Himmel’s heroic actions made him a legend within his own world. We can even see statues of him (and of the entire Hero Party) throughout the series. This just shows that the world itself can be changed by the actions of certain people.
